February 6th is Internet Safety Day and in Year 5 we made a pledge to be better citizens on line. We also discussed how our actions online could be misinterpreted and how we should ask permission to share pictures and information about our friends.

Year 5 looked at asexual reproduction of plants this week. So we have planted onion bulbs, put willow and herb cuttings into water or soil and left different varieties of potatoes to 'chit'. We shall be observing very closely over the next few weeks to see what happens.

As part of our science, we have been been observing the reproductive organs of flowering plants. Next week, weather permitting, we will be preparing to plant plants that use asexual reproduction.
